Abstract
Diplomska naloga obravnava področje strelovodnih inštalacij in zaščite objektov pred delovanjem strele. Namen naloge je predstaviti osnove nastanka strele, principe delovanja strelovodnih sistemov in zahteve za njihovo načrtovanje, izvedbo in vzdrževanje. V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni zakoni, standardi, tehnične smernice in priporočila s področja zaščite pred strelo in njen vpliv na objekte in električne inštalacije. Opisani so posamezni elementi sistema zaščite pred strelo, kot so lovilni sistem, ozemljitev, izenačevanje potencialov in prenapetostna zaščita. Predstavljene so tudi metode projektiranja lovilnih sistemov, kot so metoda kotaleče se krogle, metoda zaščitne mreže in metoda zaščitenega kota. V praktičnem delu je prikazan primer izvedbe strelovodne zaščite na gostinskem objektu McDonald's v Novem mestu, na katerem sem bil prisoten tudi sam. Opisana je izvedba lovilnega sistema, odvodov, ozemljitvenega sistema, merilnih spojev ter sistema za izenačevanje potencialov in meritve.

Title:Planning, implementation and verification of a lightning protection system using the example of a catering facility
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the field of lightning protection installations and the protection of objects against lightning. The purpose of the thesis is to present the process of atmospheric discharges, the principles of operation of lightning protection systems and the requirements for their design, implementation and maintenance. The theoretical part presents laws and standards in the field of lightning protection and its effects on objects and electrical installations. Individual elements of the lightning protection system are described, such as the air-termination system, grounding, equipotential bonding and overvoltage protection. Methods for designing air-termination system are also presented, such as the rolling sphere method, the protective mesh method and the protective angle method. The practical part shows an example of implementing lightning protection at the McDonald's restaurant in Novo mesto, where I was also present. The implementation of the air-termination system, down conductors, grounding system, test joints, equipotential bonding and measurements are described.
