The topic of this thesis is the design of a control system for a machine for automatic
pressing and measurement of stator stacks. The design was carried out in the
automation and digitalization of processes department at Domel, d. o. o., a
company engaged in the development and production of electric motors, vacuum
units, blowers, and components.
The purpose of automating the pressing and measurement process is to increase
the speed, accuracy, and repeatability of the process. The pressing process ensures
the required dimensions of the stator stacks, which are then measured in order to
classify good and defective parts.
As part of the thesis, the electrical design of the control system was prepared
in the EPLAN software environment. A programmable logic controller, sensors,
actuators, safety components, and other supporting equipment were selected.
Relevant international standards in the field of machine safety were also considered
during the design process.
The result of the thesis is a control system design with electrical documentation,
which serves as the basis for ordering components, assembling the machine, and
integrating it into the production process.
