Abstract
Diplomsko delo raziskuje povezavo med osnovnimi budističnimi nauki in žensko izkušnjo budistične filozofije v antologiji pesmi Therīgāthā, enem najstarejših besedil o ženskem doživetju, ki so ga ustvarile zgodnje budistične nune iz tradicije budizma theravada (pal., skrt. theravāda). Namen dela je ugotoviti, kako osebne izkušnje nun ustvarijo unikatno interpretacijo temeljnih budističnih konceptov. Preko poglobljene analize besedila in primerjave s sorodno zbirko pesmi Theragāthā preučuje izraze različnih izkušenj znotraj budističnega redovništva. Posebna pozornost je namenjena vprašanju statusa žensk in ženskega redovništva ter načina, kako nune skozi pesmi oblikujejo lastno duhovno avtoriteto. Raziskava pokaže, da Therīgāthā ne predstavlja zgolj prenosa univerzalnih budističnih idej, temveč ponuja edinstveno interpretacijo in ženski vpogled v utelešeno, čustveno žensko budistično izkušnjo.

Title:The Philosophical Teachings of Buddhist Nuns in the Therīgāthā and the Role of Women in Early Buddhism
Abstract:
The thesis explores the connection between basic Buddhist teachings and the female experience of Buddhist philosophy in the Therīgāthā poem anthology, one of the oldest texts on female experience, created by early Buddhist nuns of the Theravada tradition. The purpose of the work is to determine how the personal experiences of nuns create a unique interpretation of fundamental Buddhist concepts. Through an in-depth analysis of the text and comparison with the related Theragāthā poem collection, the work examines the expressions of different experiences within Buddhist monasticism. Special attention is paid to the issue of the status of women and female monasticism, and the way in which nuns shape their own spiritual authority through poems. The research shows that Therīgāthā does not simply represent a transmission of universal Buddhist ideas, but but offers a unique interpretation and female insight into the embodied, emotional, and feminine Buddhist experience.
