The thesis deals with ceramic matrix composites based on silicon carbide SiC/SiC, which, according to today's experts, represent one of the key breakthrough materials for the next generation of aircraft engines, nuclear fusion reactors and space technology. The literature review describes how the combination of SiC reinforcement and SiC matrix successfully overcomes the traditional brittleness of ceramics and creates an extremely tough material resistant to extreme high-temperature environments. The work presents modern synthesis methods for both SiC ceramics and SiC/SiC composites, as well as challenges that the industry currently faces in terms of high production costs and ensuring long-term chemical, mechanical and thermal resistance.
