Abstract

Title:A theoretical review of bioinformatics methods for genomic analysis of Alzheimer's disease
Abstract:
Alzheimer’s disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder that causes a gradual and irreversible decline in cognitive abilities. The development of the disease may result from a combination of different factors, which makes its study highly complex and almost impossible without the use of bioinformatics. Bioinformatics is a rapidly advancing interdisciplinary field that applies techniques and concepts from computer science, statistics, mathematics, chemistry, physics, and biochemistry to organize, maintain, and analyze large amounts of data on genes and genomic sequences. The bioinformatics methods presented in this thesis play an important role in advancing the research and understanding of Alzheimer’s disease. These analyses enable the discovery of genetic risk factors, the identification of potential biomarkers, the recognition of molecular mechanisms of the disease, the integration of data from various databases and studies, and a more comprehensive understanding of the complex processes associated with the development of the disease.

Keywords:bioinformatics, Alzheimer's disease, β-amyloid, genome-wide association studies, differential expression analysis, polygenic risk score, gene ontology
