Abstract

Title:
SHIP'S CAPTAIN - LEADER AND MANAGER
Abstract:
The diploma thesis examines the dual role of a ship captain as a leader and manager in modern maritime conditions. The central research question is how captains successfully integrate these two seemingly contradictory roles in daily practice and what specific strategies they use to manage the challenges associated with this integration. The purpose of the research is to develop a comprehensive model of captaincy that combines theoretical concepts of leadership and management with the empirical experiences of active captains.
