Testiranje protokola Mobile IPv6

Mobilnost internetnih naprav je že zadnjih 20 let v močnem porastu. Uporaba TCP/IP sklada, ki je bil prvotno namenjen komunikaciji med statičnim vozlišči, predstavlja za mobilnost precejšen izziv. Med pomembnejšimi omejitvami trenutne internetne infrastrukture je lokalnost IP naslovov, kar pomeni, da se ob vsaki menjavi omrežja napravi spremeni naslov. V tem diplomskem delu raziskujemo protokol Mobile IPv6, ki je nastal, da bi naprave lahko kljub menjavi omrežij ohranile IP naslov. Eksperiment je izveden v omrežnem simulatorju Ns-3 za protokola UDP ter TCP.

Abstract

Mobility of internet devices experiences continuous growth for last 20 years. TCP/IP stack was a first designed for communication among static nodes and is a huge obstacle for mobility. Locality of IP addresses – which means that the node changes its IP address every time it moves – is among more important limitations of current internet infrastructure. In this thesis author researches Mobile IPv6 that was invented for nodes to keep the same IP address despite the movement. Experiment was performed in network simulator NS-3 for protocols UDP and TCP.
