Abstract
Silicon photomultipliers (SiPMs) are small solid-state semiconductor photon detectors, which are already widely used in particle physics and the medical field. At the Department of low and medium energy physics (F2) of the Jožef Stefan Institute detectors for nuclear physics experiments that utilize SiPMs are being developed. The first goal of this thesis was to test silicon photomultipliers in dark environments, at different temperatures and under multiple light intensities from a LED. My second goal was to find out if it is feasible to obtain the position information on a resistively multiplexed array of SiPM’s. To solve these challenge I designed some custom 3D prints to couple the light from a LED to a single SiPM or a resistivitely multiplexed array of SiPMs. Furthermore I also needed to design a PCB to connect the multiplexed output signals to an oscilloscope to improve the noise. The data to assess the performance of a single SiPM and an array of SiPMs was acquired via a digital oscilloscope to a personal computer and analyzed within the ROOT framework and with the programming language C++.

Title:Zaznavanje svetlobe z uporovno multipleksirano matriko SiPM-jev
