Abstract
Paliativna oskrba zagotavlja celostno in neprekinjeno podporo bolniku celotno obdobje zdravljenja napredujoče neozdravljive bolezni ter hkrati daje podporo njegovim bližnjim. Namen: Namen diplomskega dela je raziskati nekatere etične vidike zdravstvene obravnave bolnika z rakom trebušne slinavke. Metode dela: Uporabili smo deskriptivno metodo dela s sistematičnim pregledom strokovne in znanstvene literature na področju zdravstvene nege, etike, onkologije, interne medicine in gastroenterologije.

Title:Ethical aspects of a nursing of a patient with pancreatic cancer : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive and deadly forms of cancer. Due to its rapid progression and often late diagnosis, patients with this disease face many challenges, both physical and emotional. Pancreatic cancer presents significant psychosocial challenges for the patient and their family members. Pain is one of the most common signs in cancer patients Palliative care provides comprehensive and continuous support to the patient throughout the treatment period of a progressive, incurable disease, while providing support to their loved ones. Purpose: The purpose of diploma work is to explore some ethical aspects of medical treatment of a patient with pancreatic cancer. Methods: We used a descriptive method of work with a systematic review of professional and scientific literature in the field of nursing, ethics, oncology, internal medicine and gastroenterology. Literature was obtained from the following databases: CINAHL, Medline, COBIB with the help of search engines DiKUL, PubMed, COBISS+. Results: Pancreatic cancer is known to have the highest incidence of depression among all other tumors of the digestive system. Research results show that the risk of suicide after a cancer diagnosis increases significantly compared to the general population. The pathophysiology of pain in pancreatic cancer is complex and multidimensional. The right approach to reduce pain is an important aspect of holistic care for pancreatic cancer patients. This correct approach is important for improving the quality and survival of patients. Palliative care for cancer patients is actively intertwined with active treatment, and also complements it. With this approach, patients are provided with a quality and dignified life in all periods of the disease, even in the last weeks and days of life. Discussion and conclusion: Healthcare professionals play a vital role in providing ethical healthcare that addresses both the physical and emotional needs of the patient and their loved ones. It is important that the ethical aspects of caring for such patients are continuously examined and developed to ensure the best possible care for each individual affected by this illness.
