The daylight environment of a mobile home is strongly influenced by its geographical location and the climatic characteristics of the area, as these factors determine the amount, intensity and direction of incoming natural light, and consequently affect the occurrence of glare and excessive illuminance. In this study, we analysed one of the mobile home models produced by Adria Home, a company specialising in the production of motorhomes, caravans and mobile homes. A digital model of the selected unit was placed in three different locations – Ljubljana (Slovenia), Akrotiri (Cyprus) and Rostock (Germany) – to examine the influence of location on the values of Useful Daylight Illuminance (UDI) and the occurrence of glare (measured with the Annual Glare metric). The obtained results were compared with reference values specified in the SIST EN 17037 and SIST EN 12464-1 standards to verify whether the analysed spaces provide adequate visual comfort and functional lighting. The analysis of annual glare occurrence showed that glare values are higher when the building openings are oriented towards the south, confirming the significant impact of building orientation on visual comfort, especially in regions with intense solar radiation during certain parts of the year. Furthermore, the results indicated that locations at lower latitudes, such as Akrotiri, generally have higher UDI values, meaning that spaces in these regions are more frequently adequately lit by daylight.
