This bachelor's thesis discusses the lubrication of rolling bearings with grease and the influence of various operating conditions on lubrication performance and bearing service life. The thesis presents the fundamental properties of greases, their composition, and their operating mechanisms in rolling bearings, with particular emphasis on elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL).
The central part of the thesis analyzes the effects of temperature, speed, and load on lubrication performance, as well as guidelines for the proper selection and application of greases in various industrial sectors. Relubrication procedures, condition monitoring, and the identification of common lubrication-related failures are also discussed.
The findings indicate that the correct selection, application, and monitoring of lubricating greases significantly contribute to reducing friction and wear, improving operational reliability, and extending the service life of mechanical systems.
