Bale so zgodovinsko istrsko naselje z ohranjenim srednjeveškim jedrom, kamnito arhitekturo in izrazito kulturno krajino. Zaradi hitre rasti turizma se naselje sooča s pritiski gradnje vil, apartmajev in sezonske rabe prostora. Magistrska naloga zato raziskuje razvoj znotraj obstoječe naseljske strukture, predvsem z aktivacijo praznih in premalo izkoriščenih objektov ter zgoščevanjem urbaniziranih območij. Cilj je oblikovati trajnostne usmeritve, ki varujejo zgodovinsko identiteto, krajinsko podobo ter kakovost bivanja in turizma.

• Title: On the Edge of Change : the Internal Development of Bale as an Alternative to Dispersed Settlement

Abstract

Bale is a historic Istrian settlement with a preserved medieval core, stone architecture, and a distinctive cultural landscape. Due to the rapid growth of tourism, the settlement is facing pressures from the construction of villas, apartments, and seasonal use of space. The master’s thesis therefore explores development within the existing settlement structure, mainly through the activation of vacant and underused buildings and the densification of urbanized areas. Its aim is to formulate sustainable guidelines that protect the historic identity, landscape character, and the quality of living and tourism.
