Abstract
Magistrska naloga se ukvarja z vprašanjem zmanjšane gibalne dejavnosti otrok, ki vse več časa preživijo sede, kar vodi v slabšanje njihovih gibalnih sposobnosti. Izhodišče raziskave je spoznanje, da otroci večino dneva preživijo v šoli, zato je prav šolski prostor tisti, ki lahko pomembno prispeva k zmanjšanju njihovega sedečega časa in izboljšanju njihove gibalne učinkovitosti. Arhitektura se v tem kontekstu razume kot orodje, s katerim je mogoče odgovarjati na aktualne družbene probleme. Osrednji cilj naloge je bil raziskati, kako je mogoče s prostorsko zasnovo osnovne šole oblikovati okolje, ki spodbuja gibanje in omogoča razvoj gibalnih spretnosti. V ta namen je bila opravljena analiza športnovzgojnih kartonov učencev, s katero so bile prepoznane ključne težave pri gibalnem razvoju otrok. V nadaljevanju je bila določena regija v Sloveniji, kjer imajo osnovne šole najmanj športnih površin na učenca, ter kjer so obstoječe športne površine med najslabše ohranjenimi. Na podlagi prostorske analize šolskih okolišev so bile prepoznane težave preobremenjenosti obstoječih osnovnih šol. S tem je bila utemeljena potreba po novi osnovni šoli, katere velikost je bila izračunana skladno s številom učencev in namensko rabo prostora v občinskem prostorskem načrtu. Naloga opozarja na dejstvo, da arhitekturna zasnova šol ne vpliva zgolj na učni proces, temveč lahko pomembno prispeva tudi k oblikovanju zdravih življenjskih navad. Rezultati tako potrjujejo, da je mogoče z ustrezno oblikovanimi prostori ustvariti pogoje za večjo telesno dejavnost otrok in s tem prispevati k reševanju enega ključnih izzivov sodobne družbe.

Title:LEARNING AND PLAY TROUGH MOVEMENT : conceptual design of an 18-Class Primary School in Brdo, Ljubljana as a Spatial Response to the Decilne in Youth Motor Abilities
Abstract:
The master’s thesis addresses the issue of reduced physical activity among children, who spend an increasing amount of time in sedentary activities, resulting in a decline in coordination and overall motor abilities. The starting point of the research is the recognition that children spend the majority of their day at school, making the school environment a key factor in contributing to the improvement of their motor efficiency. In this context, architecture is understood as a tool through which contemporary societal challenges can be addressed. The main objective of the thesis was to explore how the spatial design of a primary school can be used to create an environment that encourages movement and supports the development of motor skills. For this purpose, an analysis of physical fitness assessment records was conducted, enabling the identification of key problems related to children’s motor development. Subsequently, a region in Slovenia was selected where primary schools have the lowest number of sports surfaces per pupil and where existing sports facilities are among the most poorly maintained. Based on a spatial analysis of school catchment areas, issues related to the overcapacity of existing primary schools were identified. This provided the basis for justifying the need for a new primary school, the size of which was calculated in accordance with the number of pupils and the designated land use defined in the municipal spatial plan. The thesis highlights that the architectural design of schools does not influence the educational process alone but can also significantly contribute to the formation of healthy lifestyle habits. The results confirm that appropriately designed spaces can create conditions for increased physical activity among children and thus contribute to addressing one of the key challenges of contemporary society.
