The research covers the former area of the Ortnek rural court, which today comprises the areas of Velike Lašče, Ribnica, Sodražica, and Velike Bloke. In the area of Velike Lašče and Ribnica, we can still see preserved boundary stones dated 1673 and 1706, which testify to the course of the estate's border at that time. With the help of the oldest sources from the urbarium (old land register listing tenants duties) and the land register and cartographic materials, such as military topographic maps, Franciscan land registry plans, and more recent materials stored by the Surveying and Mapping Authority of the Republic of Slovenia, I interpreted the border of the Ortnek estate and analyzed which geodetic points, from the real estate cadastre to trigonometry, are its heritage that is still administratively valid today, and what proportion of the cadastral municipality borders coincide with the former border of the Ortnek estate. In the field, I identified 10 trigonometric points from the post-war triangulation, found 3 boundary markers that mark the boundary of cadastral municipalities, and identified 6 boundary stones that once belonged to the estate. The Ortnek estate covered 6761 ha, and the estate border measured approximately 51389 m, bordering the former estates of Ribnica, Turjak, Čušperk, and Lož. In analyzing the formation of cadastral municipality borders, I found a 75% match with the estate border.
