The thesis addresses the accessibility of archival topographic maps from the 20th century in the territory of Slovenia. Archival maps represent an important source of information for geodetic tasks, spatial planning, historical analysis, and studies of land use changes over time. Despite their usefulness, access to these maps often remains limited due to the fragmentation of institutions, varying levels of digitization, inconsistent metadata standards, and the lack of a comprehensive system for searching and utilizing the material. The research involved the analysis of archival topographic maps available at various Slovenian institutions. Both physical collections and digital sources accessible through online portals were included in the analysis. The outcome of the study is a unified database compiling key information on accessible maps according to map type, year of production, scale, producer, number of sheets, location, and form of access.
