Abstract
V nalogi obravnavamo problem gradnje in interaktivnega prikaza dreves, zgrajenih z metodo združevanja sosedov, v okolju Orange. Obstoječi gradniki okolja Orange podpirajo hierarhično gručenje in prikaz dendrogramov, ne omogočajo pa neposredne gradnje neultrametričnih dreves iz matrik razdalj. Zato smo razvili gradnik, ki iz vhodne matrike razdalj zgradi drevo, ga pretvori v podatkovne strukture okolja Orange in ga prikaže v interaktivni vizualizaciji. Rešitev smo preverili s primerjavo z referenčnimi implementacijami in s primeri uporabe na izbranih podatkovnih množicah. Glavni prispevek naloge je delujoč gradnik, ki okolje Orange razširi z metodo združevanja sosedov.

Title:The Neighbor Joining Algorithm in Orange
Abstract:
This thesis addresses the problem of constructing and interactively visualizing trees built with the neighbor joining method in the Orange environment. Existing Orange widgets support hierarchical clustering and dendrogram visualization, but they do not directly support the construction of non-ultrametric trees from distance matrices. We developed a widget that constructs a tree from an input distance matrix, converts it into Orange data structures, and presents it in an interactive visualization. The solution was evaluated by comparison with reference implementations and through use cases on selected data sets. The main contribution of the thesis is a working widget that extends Orange with the neighbor joining method.
