Abstract

Title:Impact of Electric Vehicle Charging on Power System Load
Abstract:
Electric vehicles play an important role in the decarbonization of the transport sector and in the transition toward a sustainable energy system. However, their rapid deployment introduces new challenges for the power system, particularly in terms of load demand, voltage profiles, and grid capacity planning. This thesis examines the impact of EV charging on the distribution network and analyzes different charging management approaches, such as smart charging and Vehicle-to-Grid technology. Key battery technologies and the possibilities for integrating EV into the provision of ancillary services are also presented. The findings indicate that, with appropriate charging control strategies, EVs can reduce negative impacts on the grid while simultaneously contributing to increased stability and flexibility of the power system.
