This bachelor’s thesis addresses construction complications arising from deficiencies in project documentation. The aim of the thesis is to analyse the importance of well-prepared project documentation and to identify the most common deficiencies that affect the construction process. The theoretical part presents the legislative framework in the field of project documentation in the Republic of Slovenia. It also covers the different types of project documentation, from conceptual planning to as-built documentation. Special emphasis is placed on the execution plan, which represents a key basis for high-quality construction execution.The thesis presents practical case studies, including the construction of a singlefamily house, a residential neighbourhood, and a multifunctional urban complex. The analysis shows that timely preparation of documentation, its mutual coordination, and continuous cooperation between different disciplines are key factors in reducing errors and construction complications.The advantages and disadvantages of BIM tools are also presented. These tools are increasingly being adopted in the planning and construction process with the aim of reducing deficiencies in project documentation, improving coordination of planning solutions, and reducing execution errors.
