Abstract

Title:Production of music video using different methods of creation
Abstract:
The thesis examines the combination of digital and analog processes in contemporary video production and their impact on the visual expression of a music video. The aim of the research was to explore the possibilities of integrating analog techniques into a digital environment and to determine how such an approach influences the visual appearance and narrative structure of a music video. In the theoretical part, the development of music videos, their role in the perception of music, and the re-emergence of analog aesthetics in the digital age were analyzed. In the experimental part, the production process of a music video for the original song Sled was designed and carried out, including the phases of pre-production, production and post-production. Particular emphasis was placed on the print and scan process, in which digital video sequences were converted into a physical format and subsequently re-digitized. Various software and hardware tools were used, including video editing and processing software, as well as a printer and scanner for analog image processing. The results showed that the analog process produces specific visual artifacts, such as texture, degradation, and colour variations, which are difficult to fully replicate using digital methods. It was also found that this type of processing enables the creation of a visually distinct layer within the music video and contributes to a clearer narrative structure. Based on the results, it was concluded that the combination of analog and digital processes expands the possibilities of visual expression and allows for a more effective visualization of subjective content. The proposed hypotheses were confirmed, and the research objectives were achieved.
