Abstract
Članek predstavi vlogo in pomen stripov v političnih in oboroženih konfliktih na Bližnjem vzhodu, njihovo poročevalsko in komentatorsko funkcijo ter spremembe skozi čas. Avtorica predstavi tudi stripovski pogled na dogajanje od zunaj ter kontekstualizira stripovsko umetnost na območju, kjer so v preteklosti prevladovale dekorativne in stilizirane podobe, ne pa tudi figuralne upodobitve, tipične za ta medij.

Title:Arabic comic books on the Middle Eastern front
Abstract:
The text presents the role and significance of comics in political and armed conflicts in the Middle East, their reporting and commentary function, and changes of media through time. The author also presents a comics perspective on events from the outside view and contextualises comics art in an area where decorative and stylised images, rather than figural depictions typical of this medium, have historically dominated.
