The thesis entitled Designing collection Order of Fragments presents the development of a contemporary collection, which is realized using the technique of sustainable practice, and its inspiration comes from the expressive artistic style of Jean-Michel Basquiat.
The theoretical part explores Basquiat as an artist; his life, career, stylistically recognizable characteristics and influence on culture today. Among other things, the theoretical part also presents the development of men's fashion, the concept of unisex clothing today, and the meaning, purpose and methods of transforming existing pieces.
The experimental part presents the development of an original collection from the initial starting point, to the choice of materials, color palette and manufacturing techniques that build the collection of six silhouettes. The upcycling method was used in the design process, reflecting the understanding of sustainable approaches in contemporary fashion.
The result is a collection that cohesively connects artistic style with modern clothing design procedures. The common thread in it is men's ties, whose traditional visual presentation is reinterpreted in a modern and innovative way.
