In the final thesis, the preparation of project documentation using Building Information Modelling (BIM) is presented through the case study of the VH Lačna Gora water reservoir. The design steps are shown from the placement of the structure in site to the design of mechanical installations, with an emphasis on the preparation of their schematic and assembly drawings, as well as the bill of materials for the key elements. The thesis analyses the compatibility and interoperability between civil engineering BIM tools and mechanical CAD tools. A comparison is made between traditional 2D design and the BIM approach in terms of documentation clarity, coordination between disciplines, and the efficiency of quantity take-off. The results of the thesis show that the applied approach enables better coordination between the civil and mechanical parts of the project, clearer graphical representations, and improved traceability of data between the model and the tabular bill of materials. The applied approach is also suitable for the design of other technically less demanding water infrastructure facilities, as it integrates the spatial model, element data, and output documents into a unified whole.
