Abstract
Praktični del vključuje oblikovanje avtorske kolekcije, zasnovane z uporabo starih kavbojk in drugih tekstilnih ostankov. Delo z recikliranimi materiali in ročno delo poudarjata trajnostno naravnanost projekta. Diplomsko delo izpostavlja denim kot material z velikim trajnostnim potencialom v sodobni modi.

Title:Clothing Collection Entiteld Old Wild West Elements in Modern Fashion
Abstract:
This diploma thesis explores elements of the American Old West in modern fashion, with a focus on cowboy aesthetics, denim as a material, and the concept of sustainability. The research is based on the significance of denim as a historically durable and functional material, as well as a critical perspective on fast fashion and its negative impact on the environment. The aim of the thesis is to examine how traditional cowboy elements can be reinterpreted within a modern design context through a sustainable approach. The theoretical part examines the historical and cultural significance of cowboy fashion and the role of denim as a material with strong functional and symbolic value. Special attention is given to contemporary sustainable practices in fashion, particularly the reuse and upcycling of textile materials. The experimental part presents the design of an original fashion collection created using old jeans and other textile remnants. The collection is based on a modern interpretation of cowboy aesthetics. Denim is treated not only as a functional and primary material, but also as a carrier of structure and visual identity within the collection. The results of the design process are reflected in a collection that combines elements of the Old West with contemporary design approaches. The use of recycled materials and handcraft techniques highlights the sustainable orientation of the project. The thesis emphasizes the potential of denim as a material with strong capacity for sustainable design in modern fashion.
