Abstract

Abstract:
The thesis examines the importance of puppet shows and finger plays during the first age period and their impact on child development. The theoretical section outlines the significance of finger plays, speech development, and the preschool teacher’s role in supporting the child's holistic development. Particular emphasis is placed on the development of speech expression, social skills, empathy, and independence in children aged 1 to 2 years. The empirical section adopts a qualitative approach, using systematic observation of children during puppet shows and finger plays in kindergarten. The aim of this research is to determine how children respond to these activities and the significance of puppet shows and finger plays in daily kindergarten practice. The results indicate that puppet shows and finger plays have a positive effect on the holistic development of children.
