The goal of this thesis is to create a motion graphics and kinetic typography animation for the song Kr.i by the Slovenian hard rock/heavy metal band Uninvited. The animation was produced using Adobe After Effects. The focus is on various transitions, visual effects, and the use of built-in presets within the software.
The thesis consists of several sections. The first part provides a theoretical foundation, exploring the fields of animation and typography. It covers the early beginnings of animation, different animation techniques, and key milestones in animation history. The theoretical section also discusses the origins of typography, its historical development, and various typeface classifications.
The experimental part presents a detailed overview of the creative process using Adobe After Effects. It describes the purpose and objectives of the animation and explains the software environment, including the use of compositions and layers, which are essential to the production process. Various presets and effects are also presented, supported by illustrative screenshots.
This thesis was created with the aim of designing a motion graphics animation that, when viewed alongside the music, offers a more engaging and immersive experience for the viewer, thereby capturing and maintaining their attention.
