Emerging new technologies (especially artificial intelligence – AI), on which people because of the value crisis, grab on to more and more, are demanding reevaluation, including of the legal system, which will have to play a crucial part in all of this. Since AI can be a threat to our way of life and also human existence, we will have to limit the dangers of it as much as possible with the laws. It will be of utmost importance to find the right balance between safety, justice, and simultaneously also utility. Because of its efficiency, it can play a very useful role in the legal system, but we shouldn’t give it human power and let away our sovereignty. It also shouldn’be made equal to humans in regards to legal subjectivity, because its consciousness would be, like its intelligence, only artificial. It is just to give every subject (if it can be named so) what it deserves, but, since safety should be a priority in this value hierarchy, humans must keep its sovereignty over the legal system, which was created – same as all the technology – by humans for humans.
