Abstract
V diplomskem delu sem predstavila teoretične osnove kromatografije s poudarkom na plinski kromatografiji. Opisala sem glavne komponente plinskega kromatografa in njihovo vlogo (nosilni plin, injektor, kolona, detektor) ter razložila vpliv dimenzij kolone na učinkovitost separacije. Podrobno sem predstavila izbiro stacionarne faze, debelino filma, notranji premer, dolžino kolone ter vrsto in hitrost nosilnega plina. Prav tako sem opisala vpliv temperature kolone na potek in uspešnost analize. V zaključku pa sem predstavila področja uporabe plinske kromatografije.

Title:GAS CHROMATOGRAPHY AND ITS APPLICATIONS
Abstract:
In my thesis, I presented the fundamental principles of chromatography with an emphasis on gas chromatography. I described the key components of a gas chromatograph and their respective roles (carrier gas, injector, column, detector), and explained the influence of column dimensions on separation performance. I provided a detailed overview of the selection of the stationary phase, film thickness, column length and its inner diameter, as well as the type and flow rate of the carrier gas. Furthermore, I described the impact of column temperature on the development and success of the analysis. In conclusion, I presented the main application areas of gas chromatography.
