The master’s thesis presents the conceptual design of a multipurpose sports hall in Grosuplje Sports Park.
The location of the sports hall has already been defined in the adopted municipal spatial plans of the Municipality of Grosuplje. However, the project has not yet entered the implementation phase. The municipality aims to provide the town with the sports infrastructure it urgently needs, since there is currently a lack of suitable facilities for training and competitions. The new sports building will also make it possible, for the first time, to bring different sports activities together in one place.
The building includes several multipurpose spaces. In addition to sports and recreation, these spaces can also be used for lectures, meetings, gatherings, and social activities. The central part of the building is a multipurpose sports hall designed for both recreational and professional athletes. It supports a variety of sports activities and allows competitions in major ball sports such as basketball, volleyball, handball, and futsal. The hall can also host other events, including school, cultural, and municipal events. Another important part of the program is climbing. This will allow the local climbing club to train for different types of competitions. Both an indoor and an outdoor climbing wall are planned.
In addition to the main sports program, the design also includes service spaces needed for the operation of the building, as well as other supporting spaces that enrich the center and encourage social interaction. The project also includes a traffic layout, parking areas, public spaces, outdoor areas, and small gathering points that promote meeting, socializing, and communication
