The thesis focuses on the analysis of the 2022 parliamentary elections, which, due to the specific social context marked by the Covid-19 pandemic, represented a unique and hardly repeatable political event. Particular attention is given to the appearance of new faces, new political actors, in party politics and the historic success of the newly established political party, Gibanje Svoboda. The thesis explores the key factors that influenced the formation of this new political party and analyzes the motivations of individuals who decided to enter political life despite having no prior political experience. The theoretical part is based on the examination of the development of political parties and voting behavior, with a particular emphasis on tactical voting. The empirical part includes interviews with ministers of the current government, the former Secretary General of the Modern Centre Party (SMC), members of the Freedom Movement, and the director of the market research company Valicon. The thesis highlights the importance of further research into a broader sample of voters, as well as the need to monitor upcoming parliamentary elections and the development of political dynamics, particularly within the centre-left spectrum, where trends in tactical voting and the success of newly established parties can be analyzed within comparable time frames.
