Abstract
V zdravstvu in delovni terapiji umetna inteligenca podpira diagnostiko, napovedovanje izidov bolezni, analizo podatkov in oblikovanje individualiziranih obravnav. Iskanje literature je potekalo v mesecu maju 2025 v podatkovnih bazah CINAHL, Web of Science in Medline.

Title:Application of artificial intelligence in occupational therapy : diploma work
Abstract:
Introduction: Artificial intelligence has become an indispensable part of everyday life, as we can encounter it when using smartphones, automobiles, smart homes, and also in the field of health. In healthcare and occupational therapy, artificial intelligence supports diagnostics, prediction of disease outcomes, data analysis, and the development of individualized interventions. The integration of artificial intelligence into occupational therapy offers numerous opportunities, however, it also raises questions regarding ethics, safety and the preservation of a client-centered approach. Purpose: The purpose of this thesis was to investigate the current knowledge on the use of artificial intelligence in occupational therapy. Methods: A review of scientific and professional literature on artificial intelligence in occupational therapy, published in English, was conducted. Literature searches were performed in May 2025 in the CINAHL, Web of Science, and Medline databases. Articles that achieved a relevance rating of 4, or 5 were included in the final analysis. Results: Fifteen articles met the inclusion criteria and were subsequently analyzed using descriptive and thematic analysis. Based on the thematic analysis, three main themes were identified: the development of tools incorporating artificial intelligence; the use od artificial intelligence in the occupational therapy process; and ethical issues related to the use od artificial intelligence. Discussion and Conclusion: Artificial intelligence has significan potential in occupational therapy, as it is applied in assessment, interventions and treatment, and user support across different contexts. Artificial intelligence contributes to the individualization of interventions and enables more objective evaluation of progress. Despite these opportunities, ethical challenges arise, including data protection, responsibility for decisions, and impacts on the therapeutic relationship, which require appropriate regulations and standards of use.
