The authors of future language resources and handbooks will have the important task of analyzing the characteristics and perception of internet language, as well as the opportunities of including them in language reference books. In this paper we present a corpus analysis of typical spoken elements in Slovene new media texts at the part-of-speech, morphosyntactic and lexical levels, which can help us to understand the key principles of spoken and internet language.
