Effective construction management is essential for a successful construction project. This is facilitated by norms for construction and craft works, which specify the required input to achieve a technological output. Delays and cost increases are often highlighted in the media; therefore, it is important to select an appropriate basis for the planned project. High-quality and up-to-date norms make it easier to assess both project duration and cost. Unfortunately, insufficient progress has been made in this field over the past 20 years. This article presents the norms and their development in Slovenia since 1947. Four different organisations have issued collections of norms, each during its own period. The collections of norms differ in the construction and craft works included, as well as in their classification. The article presents the structure and content of the various collections of norms in Slovenia.
