Ali so termini lahko nedolgočasni

Iskanje frazemov v strokovnih in znanstvenih besedilih je podobno iskanju biserov. Načeloma jih ni prav dosti, saj je osnovna funkcija strokovnega jezika neekspresivno sporazumevanje. V znanstvenih besedilih so frazemi praviloma uporabljeni kot slogov­na sredstva, povezana z avtorjevim osebnim slogom. Posebno skupino pa predstavljajo termini, ki so nastali z metaforičnim prenosom in v splošnem jeziku še vedno predsta­vljajo frazeološke enote. Zaradi nezaznamovanosti v stroki je tako jezikoslovno zani­miv vidik nastanka termina in izguba njegove ekspresivnosti v stroki. Predvidljivost takšnih frazeoloških terminov na posameznem strokovnem področju je odraz poime­novalnih potreb in razvoja vsakega strokovnega področja, primarna ekspresivnost, ki izhaja iz splošnega jezika, pa se kaže kot poimenovalna sposobnost, uresničena s termi­nološkim načelom gospodarnosti, pogosto tudi vsebinske ustreznosti. V prispevku so predstavljeni primeri terminov, ki so objavljeni v terminoloških slovarjih na spletišču Terminologišče.

• Title: Can terms become exciting

Abstract

Searching for phrasems in professional and scientific texts is like searching for pearls. In principle, there are not many, as the primary function of professional language is non-expressive communication. In scientific texts, phrasems are usually employed as stylistic means reflecting the author‘s personal style. A distinct group consists of terms created through metaphorical transfer, which still function as phraseological units in general language. Due to their limited recognition within the field, the linguistic aspect of a term‘s origin and the loss of its expressiveness in the specialized field are of inter­est. The predictability of such phraseological terms in a particular specialized field re­flects the naming needs and development of that field, while the original expressiveness from general language appears as a naming ability, realised through the terminological principle of economy and often also through content appropriateness. The article pre­sents examples of terms published in terminology dictionaries on the Terminologišče website.
