Abstract
Raziskovane so slogovno obarvane besede, kulturni izrazi, posebne slovnične strukture in pravopisne spremembe.

Title:Comparison of two Slovene translations of War and Peace
Abstract:
The master thesis examines the analysis of two Slovenian translations of the Russian novel War and Peace, which were written 87 years apart. Vladimir Levstik's translation was completed in 1934, and Lijana Dejak's in 2021. The thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part introduces some of the fundamental translation theorists and linguists who have made a significant contribution to the development of translation studies. This is followed by a description of the process of literary translation, including the procedures and methods available to the literary translator. The theory of retranslation, the translation oeuvre of the two translators and the specific features of the novel will also be briefly described. In the empirical part, specific examples are given in the form of annotated explanations under each topic heading. The analysis focuses on stylistic variations, cultural expressions, specific grammatical structures and orthographic changes.
