Tri desetletja Združenja splošnih knjižnic : začetki in prvo desetletje delovanja (1992–2002)

Članek v dveh delih predstavlja delovanje Združenja splošnih knjižnic (Združenja) od leta 1992, ko takratne splošnoizobraževalne knjižnice ustanovijo Zvezo splošnoizobraževalnih knjižnic, katere naslednik je Združenje, do začetka leta 2024. V tem prispevku, ki je prvi del, so predstavljeni začetki ter prvo desetletje delovanja do leta 2002. Razvoj in dejavnosti Združenja so obravnavane kronološko, pri čemer prispevek izpostavi vse strokovne in zakonodajne mejnike, ki so z namenom urejanja knjižnične dejavnosti zaznamovali knjižnično stroko, izvajanje knjižničnih storitev in mrežo splošnih knjižnic. Predstavi funkcijo, pomen in vlogo Združenja in izpostavi njegovo zavezanost pri zastopanju skupnih interesov vseh splošnih knjižnic v strokovni in splošni javnosti ter pri sooblikovanju nacionalnih, globalnih in kulturnopolitičnih opredelitev na področju splošnih knjižnic.

• Title: Three decades of the Slovenian Public Libraries Association : the beginnings and the first decade (1992-2002)

Abstract

This two-part article presents the activities of the Slovenian Public Libraries Association (the Association), from 1992, when the public libraries established the Union of Public Libraries, the successor to which is the Association, until the beginning of 2024. This article, which is the first part, presents the beginnings and the first decade of operation until 2002. The development and activities of the Association are discussed chronologically, with the article highlighting all the professional and legislative milestones that have, with the aim of regulating library activities, marked the library profession, the implementation of library services, and the network of public libraries. It presents the function, significance, and role of the Association and highlights its commitment to representing the common interests of all public libraries in the professional and general public and to co-shaping national, global, and cultural-political definitions in the field of public libraries.
