Abstract

Abstract:
In Poljanska dolina two research plots were selected on site Blechno-Fagetum, in the stands dominated by sessile oak. Altogether, 33 sessile oaks were measured, their stem quality analyzed and then they were cut down. On the basis of stem analyses height growth, diameter growth and volume growth were established. Beside, the climate factors influence on the tree ring width was tested. It was established that the growth is very slow, climate signal in tree rings is weak, growth of dominant is better in comparison with dominated oaks and growth of trees with bigger crowns is better as well. The assortment structure indicates very low stem quality. Among stem defects frost cracks, rot and partially ring shakes are very frequent.
