This diploma thesis focuses on the design and production of a promotional publication about the tourist offer of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The purpose of the research was to create a visually appealing and informative guide that would stimulate interest in visiting this country. The theoretical part discussed the key principles of graphic design, with an emphasis on the design of publications, including historical overview, typography, color palette, and page layout.
To begin with, an analysis of existing tourist publications was carried out in order to obtain guidelines for the creative work. We then proceeded with the with collecting materials, including articles and photographs by local photographers, began. Then, a concept of the publication was formed, which included determining the number of pages, layout of elements, selection of typography, and processing of photographs in Adobe Lightroom. The design emphasized visual hierarchy, clarity, and consistency. For the main text, the font Montserrat was chosen, for titles the font Athena, and for emphasis the font Didot. The color palette was limited to three basic colors that visually resembled the national colors of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The results of the research showed that careful planning and consistent adherence to design principles are crucial for creating a high-quality publication. It was found that the combination of thoughtful typography, a balanced color palette, and high-quality photographs is essential for achieving visual appeal and readability of the content. The publication was designed to offer the reader a comprehensive insight into the diverse landscapes and cultural sights of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with an emphasis on authentic experiences and local culture
