Abstract
S šestimi udeleženci, in sicer petimi osebami ženskega spola in eno osebo moškega spola, so bili opravljeni pol-strukturirani intervjuji v obsegu desetih raziskovalnih vprašanj.

Title:
The dynamic grieving process of parents after the loss of a child
Abstract:
In this master’s thesis, the author examines how parents aged between 40 and 70 who have lost a child experience time-dynamic grieving. The theoretical part presents the fundamental concepts of grief that are important for the topic. Great emphasis is placed on parental grief and on the factors that influence the grieving process itself. The empirical part presents data from the participants included in the research. The method of thematic analysis was applied. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with six participants—five female and one male—based on ten research questions. The results of the study show that the grieving process among the parents who participated in the research is never completely finished but lasts throughout life. The pain that accompanies the loss of a child always remains. The results of the research can serve as valuable support for those who are facing, or are in the process of, losing their own child. The master’s thesis provides insight into different forms of grieving and the ways in which the parents in the study cope with it. It also shows that their emotions are entirely normal and that the paths to recovery differ. At the same time, it emphasizes that the loss of a child represents the most profound and painful form of grief known to humankind. Grieving is, and unfortunately always will be, a part of human life.
