Abstract
Kasnejše spremembe v pritočnem zaledju zmanjšajo dotok sedimenta in privedejo do vrezovanja vodotokov v lastne nanose. To vodi v hidrološko osamitev distalnih delov kraškega polja.

Title:Marginal plains on inflow karst poljes
Abstract:
This research addresses the morphogenesis of marginal plains on inflow karst poljes. The aim of the research was to provide an interpretation of their formation, based on a synthesis of existing theories and new analyses. Using a combination of methods that include morphographic and morphometric analysis, granulometric analysis of sediments, and geophysical measurements of electrical resistivity, we studied their formation. We found that their formation occurs as a multi-phase process, which begins with the extensive accumulation of material from the fluviokarst inflow catchment onto the karst surface and the formation of the inflow karst polje. Subsequent changes in the inflow catchment reduce the sediment supply and lead to the incision of watercourses into their own deposits. This leads to the hydrological isolation of the distal parts of the karst polje. In these areas, due to the cessation of deposition and the vertical washing of sediment into the karst underground, marginal plains are gradually formed, which are eventually dissected by dolines. The research shows that marginal plains are the result of a complex geomorphological development that depends on several factors and is not merely the consequence of a single event or process.
