Magistrska naloga z naslovom Ohranjanje konservatorsko-restavratorskih posegov: kompromisi in rešitve na sliki portreta iz Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti, obravnava konservatorsko-restavratorski poseg na sliki moškega portreta, neznanega avtorja, ki je v lasti Akademije za likovno umetnost in oblikovanje v Ljubljani in je v dolgoročni izposoji za opremo prostorov Slovenske akademije znanosti in umetnosti. Slika je bila v preteklosti večkrat poškodovana in konservirana-restavrirana, zato je bil cilj konservatorsko-restavratorskega posega preučiti stanje slike, uporabljene materiale in pretekle postopke. V prvem delu smo tako poiskali realen cilj konservatorsko-restavratorskega postopka in ga v drugem delu izvedli s poudarkom na ohranitvi materialov, ki so bili uporabljeni v preteklosti in še opravljajo svojo funkcijo, oziroma njihovi zamenjavi.

• Title: Maintaining conservation-restoration procedures: solutions on the portrait from the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts

Abstract

The master's thesis entitled Maintaining conservation-restoration interventions: compromises and solutions on the portrait from the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts, addresses a conservation-restoration intervention on a male portrait painting by an unknown artist. The painting, owned by the Academy of fine Arts and Design in Ljubljana, is on long-term loan for the display at the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts. The painting has suffered damage and undergone multiple restoration treatments in the past. The primary objective of this intervention was to assess the painting’s current condition, identify the materials used, and evaluate previous conservation efforts. The first part of the thesis establishes realistic goals for the conservation-restoration process. The second part details the intervention itself, emphasizing the preservation of existing materials that still serve their purpose and the careful replacement of those that do not.
