Abstract

Title:Technical and organizational management of the implementation hotel furniture
Abstract:
The purpose of the master’s thesis is to present the entire process of executing the interior furnishing of the DS hotel project in Frankfurt with a focus on project management. The process of project management is shown from the obtaining of technical documentation and filing of the offer to the final implementation and installation of the interior items. A total of 86 hotel rooms had to be furnished, including a toilet housing, a partition wall with a washbasin and a wardrobe, a wall panel with a mirror, a desk, a TV frame, a bed with two bedside tables, and wall-mounted clothes hangers. Based on the technical documentation, adjustments were made due to cost constraints, production optimization, or simplification of installation. Due to time pressure, additional contractors were involved in the project, which enabled the realization of the final schedule. The first two hypotheses were related to mutual cooperation, communication among the actors in the project, and the quality of support in project management, and both were confirmed. The third hypothesis, which was related to the preferential properties of products compared to competing ones, could not be fully confirmed in this type of project, since the focus was mainly on cost optimization and timely execution, and less on the comparison of products based on their other properties. Nevertheless, it was found that preferential properties still play an important role in more complex pieces of furniture and in the use of more demanding materials.
