Abstract
Magistrsko delo obravnava proces mešanja v različnih izvedbah mikrofluidičnih naprav za pasivno mešanje. Eksperimentalna analiza je bila izvedena s pomočjo slikovne metode za sledenje delcev na petih različnih izvedbah mikrokanalov v mikrofluidičnih napravah za mešanje dveh fluidov. Za izdelavo mikrofluidičnih naprav je bila uporabljena metoda 3D tiska fotopolimera in ulivanje silikona PDMS. Delo zajema razvoj tehnologije za izdelavo mikrofluidičnih naprav, pregled literature na področju mikrokanalov, CAD modeliranje mikrofluidičnih naprav, razvoj preizkuševališča za eksperimentalno testiranje s pomočjo slikovne metode za sledenje fluorescentnih delcev, izvedbo testov na eksperimentalni progi, analizo in predstavitev rezultatov, kjer je zajet prikaz vektorskega polja magnitude hitrosti in vrtinčenja v mikrokanalih ter končni rezultati za učinkovitost mešanja v petih različnih izvedbah mikrokanalov za mešanje dveh različnih fluidov.

Title:Evaluation of the mixing process in a microfluidic device using fluorescent particle image velocimetry
Abstract:
The master's thesis deals with the mixing process in various designs of microfluidic devices used for passive mixing. Experimental analysis was performed using Particle Image Velocimetry on five different designs of microchannels in microfluidic devices for mixing two fluids. The method of 3D photopolymer printing and PDMS silicone casting was used to manufacture microfluidic devices. The thesis includes the development of the technology used for manufacturing microfluidic devices, a review of the literature in the field of microchannels, CAD modeling of microfluidic devices, development of a test bed for experimental testing using an imaging method for tracking fluorescent particles, performance of tests on an experimental setup, analysis and presentation of results, including the visualization of the vector field of velocity magnitude and vorticity in microchannels, and the final results for the mixing efficiency in five different designs of microchannels for mixing two different fluids.
