Abstract
V diplomski nalogi bomo spoznali, kako numerično izračunati vrednost funkcije sinus ter posledično tudi preostale trigonometrične funkcije. Najprej bomo definirali trigonometrične funkcije in kakšne so povezave med njimi. Nato se bomo osredotočili na funkcijo sinus, saj ugotovimo, da je mogoče preostale funkcije izračunati že s poznavanjem sinusa. Za numeričen izračun funkcije sinus bomo najprej uporabili Taylorjev razvoj in se na zgledu prepričali o njegovi natančnosti. Nato se bomo osredotočili na algoritem CORDIC. Ogledali si bomo, kako deluje, ter ga uporabili za izračun funkcije sinus. Na koncu si bomo pogledali še funkcijo, ki jo za računanje sinusa uporabljata programska jezika C in Python.

Title:Calculations of trigonometric functions
Abstract:
In the diploma thesis, we will learn how to numerically evaluate the sine function and, consequently, also the remaining trigonometric functions. First, we will define trigonometric functions and what identities connect them. Next, we focus on the sine function, as we find that the rest of the functions can be calculated by knowing the sine. For the numerical calculation of the sine function, we first use Taylor's theorem and make sure of its accuracy with an example. Next, we focus on the CORDIC algorithm. We explain how it works and use it to calculate the sine function. Finally, we check what function program languages C and Python use to calculate the sine.
