Abstract
Diplomska naloga primerja dva komunikacijska protokola, ki se uporabljata v industrijski avtomatizaciji, in sicer OPC UA in S7 Communication. Glavni namen naloge je ugotoviti, kako z obema protokoloma med sabo povezati programirljivi logični krmilnik (PLK) s SCADA sistemom in kako med seboj povezati dva PLK-ja. Na podlagi izvedenih postopkov so analizirane prednosti in slabosti obeh pristopov.

Title:Comparison of OPC UA and S7 Communication Protocols in Industrial Automation
Abstract:
This thesis compares two communication protocols used in industrial automation: OPC UA and S7 Communication. The main objective of the thesis is to determine how each protocol can be used to connect a programmable logic controller (PLC) to a SCADA system, as well as how to establish communication between two PLCs. Based on the implementation process, the advantages and disadvantages of both approaches are analysed.
