Abstract
Požarna pregrada je ključni element v računalniških omrežjih, ki skrbi za napredne varnostne funkcije. Omrežne naprave, vključno s požarnimi pregradami, delujejo po določenih ukazih, ki jih konfigurira omrežni administrator. Konfiguracija je pogosto v obliki skripte, ki je lahko zelo obsežna, migracija pa pomeni prehod iz ene sintakse v drugo. Cilj projekta je bil skrajšati čas migracije konfiguracij med napravami FortiGate in SRX, ki sta iz različnih proizvajalcev (Juniper Networks in Fortinet). To je bilo doseženo s sistemom oz. orodjem, napisanim v Python 3.x, ki omogoča prevajanje konfiguracij v obe smeri. Kljub uspehu pri skrajševanju migracije, je bilo orodje zaradi finančnih in časovnih omejitev nekompletno.

Title:Solution for translating network equipment configurations
Abstract:
A firewall is a key element in computer networks that provides advanced security features. Network devices, including firewalls, operate based on specific commands configured by a network administrator. The configuration is often in the form of a script, which can be very extensive, and migration refers to the process of transitioning from one syntax to another. The goal of the project was to reduce the time spent migrating configurations between FortiGate and SRX devices, which come from different manufacturers (Juniper Networks in Fortinet). This was achieved with a system or tool written in Python 3.x that enables the translation of configurations in both directions. Despite the success in shortening the migration time, the tool remained incomplete in the end due to financial and time constraints.
