Abstract

Title:Video materials for teaching basketball in primary and secondary schools at various levels of difficulty
Abstract:
Basketball is one of the fundamental ball games taught in physical education classes in schools. In the first three years, basketball elements are included in ball game content. In the second three-year period, basketball content is taught as mini-basketball, and in the third three-year period as (normal) basketball. Due to the large number of technical and tactical elements, basketball is classified as a complex sport. The teaching of basketball processes gradually – from 1 : 1 to 5 : 5. Each game has a methodical procedure in which we gradually change and increase the difficulty for students or players. We also use three levels of difficulty for each version of the game. By appropriately selecting game versions and levels of difficulty, we can effectively influence the achievement of objectives in learning basketball or the game of basketball. The main purpose of the task was to create a didactic or educational tool for learning basketball in the form of video materials. The video materials are primarily intended for physical education teachers who teach basketball in schools, but they can also be used by coaches in basketball clubs and associations. The content is systematically organized and designed. We used the elementary school curriculum and the content described therein as our main guideline. We covered all possible variations of one-basket games (from 1 : 1 to 5 : 5), focusing on the offensive phase of the game and possible offensive plays within these games. Various examples of offensive plays are presented at all three basic levels of difficulty. Access to the materials published on the YouTube channel are accessible via a link in the form of a QR code. We believe that the use of video materials can influence the quality of teaching in both schools and clubs.
