The impacts of climate change, as evidenced by extreme weather events at all spatial scales, highlight theneed to develop mitigation solutions. Green infrastructure offers a multifunctional and sustainable solu-tion to increase climate resilience through the provision of ecosystem services, with numerous positive impactson human well-being and health. In the Resolution on the Spatial Development Strategy of Slovenia 2050,it is mentioned as one of the four elements of spatial development. Although less frequently addressed andtherefore more challenging, the identification of green infrastructure at the regional level is one of the cru-cial steps in spatial management and planning, as it provides a basis for the development of a functionalgreen infrastructure network that maximizes the positive impacts.
