Preventivna zaščita razstavljenih predmetov v Muzeju in galerijah mesta Ljubljane

Diplomsko delo obravnava tematiko preventivne zaščite razstavljenih muzejskih predmetov. V uvodnem delu je pojasnjen pojem preventivne konservacije, predstavljena so njena ključna področja in opisani dejavniki tveganja, ki vplivajo na stanje eksponatov. Podane so splošne smernice in ukrepi, kot jih izvajajo muzeji in galerije po vsem svetu za zagotavljanje ustrezne zaščite razstavljenih predmetov pred in med razstavljanjem ter po njem. Teoretični del je podprt s primerom Muzeja in galerij mesta Ljubljana, v njem je predstavljeno stanje v treh razstaviščih na različnih lokacijah pod njihovim okriljem. Opisani so konservatorsko-restavratorski pristopi in preventivni ukrepi, ki jih izvajajo z namenom zaščite razstavnih eksponatov. V zaključnem delu je predstavljen primer reševanja in navodila za nadaljnje vzdrževanje dveh mavčnih odlitkov atlantov, ki že vsaj 40 let stojita v preddverju Mestnega muzeja Ljubljana.

• Title: Preventive conservation of exhibits in the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana

Abstract

The thesis discusses the preventive protection of exhibits in museums and galleries. The introduction defines the concept of preventive conservation, presents its' main areas and outlines the risk factors, that affect the state of the exhibits. The thesis also provides general guidelines and measures used in museums and galleries all over the world to ensure proper protection of presented items before, during and after their exhibition. The first, theoretical part of the thesis is supported with the case of the Museum and Galleries of Ljubljana (MGML) institution, which presents three exhibitions at three separate locations. Described within the theoretical part are conservative and restorative approaches as well as preventive measures used to ensure the protection of exhibited items. The second, practical part of the thesis presents a case study and instructions for preventive care of two plaster casts of Atlantes that have stood in the lobby of the City Museum of Ljubljana for at least 40 years.
