Abstract

Title:Planning and designing packaging for honey
Abstract:
The thesis discusses a comprehensive approach to planning and designing packaging for honey. The theoretical part presents the importance of packaging, its functions (protective, informative, aesthetic and sustainable), and types of packaginf, with a focus on cardboard secondary packaging. The goal of the thesis was to create user-friendly, informative, and environmentally friendly packaging with minimal printing, which protects the product while also aesthetically and content-wise appealing to the modern consumer. The starting point was the selection of suitable packaging material fort he production of secondary packaging. The experimental part shows the measurements of the physical properties od two cardboard materials (grammage, thickness, surface absorbency, bending stiffness), which sowed certain differences in mechanical resistance and this suitability for packaging glass jars with honey. Based on analysis, a conceptual design of a hexagonal cardboard packaging was developed, which combines functionality, stability, ecological orientation, and aesthetic perfection. The packaging includes bee silhouettes for visual contact with the product, hand-drawn illustrations, and a string closure. Packaging is suitable for gift and special occasions and emphasizes the natural origin and sustaiable values of the product.
