Abstract
V teoretičnem delu so predstavljeni definicija in osnovne značilnosti SVF.

Title:Application of the Sky View Factor for Urban Planning of Thermally Comfortable Public Spaces
Abstract:
The thesis addresses the Sky View Factor (SVF) indicator, which is used in urban planning to evaluate the visibility of the sky from a given point in space. This indicator significantly influences the microclimatic characteristics of the urban environment, as it is directly related to the phenomenon of urban heat islands. The purpose of the thesis was to explore the applicability of SVF in the design of urban spaces and to assess the extent to which it can contribute to identifying problematic areas and developing improvements. The theoretical part presents the definition and basic characteristics of SVF. The methodological part provides an overview of various methods for determining SVF, compares them, and gives a more detailed presentation of one selected method. The project part focuses on the area of Slovenska cesta in Ljubljana, where an SVF analysis was carried out and compared with an existing study of the city’s heat hotspots. Based on the findings, a redesign of the exposed area at Ajdovščina was proposed, featuring new vegetation, which was then re-evaluated through SVF analysis. The results showed that appropriate spatial interventions can improve SVF values and thus enhance the city’s microclimatic conditions. The main contribution of the thesis lies in demonstrating the practical applicability of the SVF indicator in urban space redevelopment and confirming the connection between SVF values and thermal stress occurrences. The work therefore provides a professional basis for further integration of the indicator into urban planning and the sustainable development of cities.
